The Kitwe College of Nursing and Midwifery was founded in 2019 by former students from across the world for the purpose of developing networks between current and former students as well the teaching staff.

As a spirit of giving back to the institution, the alumni intend to raise funds and materials on behalf of the college in order to create a world class learning environment for students

Our Mission

Contributing to the development of Kitwe College of Nursing and Midwifery and its alumni through development of programs, provision of financial and material support and enhancing networking and career development among the alumni.

Our History

Kitwe College of Nursing and midwifery originally called Kitwe School of Nursing was opened on the 3rd of April 1965 by the first Republican President Dr Kenneth Kaunda. In September 2006, the Midwifery School was introduced and the school came to be known Kitwe School of Nursing and Midwifery and eventually Kitwe College of Nursing.

Located at Kitwe Teaching Hospital one of the two tertiary referral hospitals on the Copperbelt Province also formerly known as Kitwe Central Hospital a 630 bedded government funded hospital provides practical settings for the students.

Donations from alumni, individuals, companies, trusts and foundations make an immediate impact on the life of the College, by funding areas that will benefit current and future generations of students and make KCNM an even better place to study.

When we allocate donations, we prioritise financial support for students, enhancing the student experience and ensuring our buildings and facilities are the best they can be.
